Toolsperson Relay

A private line between your agents and the apps that hold your data.

Toolsperson Relay lets an AI agent or chat app reach a library that lives on your own devices, without opening ports, running a server or handing your data to anyone.

How it works

  1. Your app opens a connection to the relay while it's open on one of your devices. Nothing is stored here: the library stays on your devices.
  2. An agent on your computer reaches it through an encrypting bridge. The relay forwards sealed bytes it cannot read.
  3. Every agent asks first. You see who it is, check its code, choose what it may read, and allow it with Face ID or your passcode.

Live only while your app is open

When none of your devices is online, the relay has nothing to serve. Requests wait briefly or fail; an iPhone can be woken for a moment, never kept running.

Honest about chat apps. ChatGPT, Claude and other chat apps can't run the encrypting bridge, so what they send and receive is readable by the relay while it passes through. Each app is still approved on your device, and can be removed at any time.

Running on it

Marginalia: a private library for reading, listening and the notes between them. Its agents reach your library through this relay.
