Let an agent into your library.

Marginalia Relay lets the agents you connect (an agent on your computer, or a chat app like ChatGPT or Claude) reach your library from anywhere, while Marginalia is open on one of your devices.

Connect an agent

  1. In Marginalia, open Agents and choose Connect an agent. Marginalia shows a six-character code, valid for ten minutes.
  2. An agent on your computer: run npx marginalia-connect pair CODE --name "Claude Code" on that computer (a Mac, Windows or Linux).
    A chat app: add the server https://relay-staging.toolsperson.com/mcp, then enter the code when it asks.
  3. Marginalia asks you to allow it. Check the codes match, choose what it may read, and allow it with Face ID or your passcode.

The code only finds your library; it grants nothing. Requests from an agent on your computer are end-to-end encrypted. Chat apps' requests are readable by the relay in transit, which Marginalia tells you before you connect one.
